What happened to Castro Point?

Original post made by Curious Observer, Jackson Park, on Oct 2, 2008

I was on my way down to uWink tonight and noticed that Castro Point has been replaced by a Meditteranean restaurant. Did Castro Point abandon their location there because they're moving to the train depot? or has that fallen through as well? I had tried Castro Point this summer and really enjoyed it. I'm sorry to see that they're gone.

Dear Customers:

Castro Point will temporarily close on August 18th. We are relocating to another venue on Castro Street in Mountain View. The new venue is TBD. To express our gratitude for your friendship and unwavering support, we are waiving the corkage fee every night from now until the August 17th. Please bring in your favorite wines and celebrate the relocation of Castro Point with us.

Please stay tuned and come visit us at our upcoming grand re-opening of Castro Point.

In addition, Sommelier Christine Tran will host the grand opening of THE ARTISAN DEPOT in Mountain View, a “local” gathering for people to meet and taste great wines and food. THE ARTISAN DEPOT promises to be the premier wine and epicurean tasting bar and shop in the Bay Area for value-priced artisanal wines and local and organic gourmet take-out items. We are excited to see all of you again and to develop new friends.

For more information, please check our websites:

Sincerely,

Castro Point Restaurant
