Congrats Shoreline! Curious... do Mountain View residents still have the opportunity to purchase early tickets to shows (prior to being sold to the general public)?

In the last year or two, disclosure of this benefit has curiously been erased. Anybody know the answer to this one?

Wow- twenty five years of a "special" taxation district meaning virtually unlimited funds for new golf carts and median strip landscaping and NO BENEFIT to our schools derived from all the businesses out in Shoreline (with all due respect to the many very good corporate citizens out in Shoreline-- this problem is not their fault nor their creation)! When will we have a council with the courage to take this problem on?

The city diverts a little cash to the school district. A pittance compared to what it would see if Shoreline were not a special tax district.

The city manager negotiated with the school districts so that they would get their fair share based on it not being a special tax district.

As I recall from the news articles of the time, the San Francisco garbage operation was losing $100K/wk for the City of Mountain View. The park may have more birds now than before but look at the diversity...coots and Canada geese? When we did our wildlife surveys back in the days before the marsh was destroyed, we found no coots, no Canada geese. What was there were several species of nesting ducks (blue-winged teals, cinnamon teals, mallards, golden-eyes, buffle heads), white-crowned night herons, great blue herons, snowy egrets, red tailed hawks, meadow larks, nesting tri-winged and redwinged blackbirds, and the list goes on. What was lost forever were whole ecosystems of biodiversity to be replaced by golfers, coots, and Canada geese. Destroyed in the process, too, was Charleston Slough which was modified in order to store water to pump into Shoreline's lake. Sorry, I can't get excited about Shoreline Park and the millions it cost to construct it.

To answer Mt. View Resident, yes I believe that Mountain View residents and city employees may still purchase tickets to most Shoreline Amphitheatre shows 1 day before they go on sale to the general public.

There are exceptions, such as the Bridge School Benefit, which does not have any advance ticket sales.

You can call the hotline recording at (650) 903-6605 during the concert season to find out if a show will have an early sale. Shoreline usually requires a current utility bill and drivers license to show proof of residency.
