Castro Elementary School has become a neighborhood hangout over the summer, ever since the Mountain View Whisman Elementary School District started offering free meals for children here about five years ago.

"Our numbers will probably continue to grow," Zalot said.

Oh great. Yet another side effect of the sanctuary -- more people having more children that they cannot afford to raise. But, hey, the taxpayers will always be here; just slap another tax measure on the ballot.
