They then added to their lead by scoring 1 in the 3rd on an RBI bunt by Drew Mitchner, scoring Max Gishi who had singled to lead off the third. Mt Views final runs came in the 5th on a Homerun by leadoff man Hunter Simmons, scoring 2. Sunnyvale Nationals sole run came in the second inning on an RBI single by Emilio Perea which scored Ridge Fernandez who had singled earlier in the inning.
The Sunnyvale team never gave up as they mounted offensive attacks in the third and fourth innings, only to see Mt View hold the runners on base by some fine defense and some good pitching by Simmons. It was a well played game and both teams should be proud of their efforts.
