What are your favorite good, inexpensive local places to eat, that are not noisy and not fast food?

Taqueria Margaritas on El Camino Real near Grant Rd: Delicious authentic Mexican food individually prepared, frequently with Spanish speaking customers.

Los Charros, the one a block off Castro, never tried the one on El Camino but we heard the prices were a little higher and the food wasn't as good. Great prices, flavorful meats!

Tappatio's absolutely. Very affordable, outstanding menu. Standard Mexican fare is jazzed up and delicious

Tappatio's Mexican Grill, 508 N. Rengstorff, Mountain View, www.tapatiosgrill.com, excellent stepped-up quality, interesting and fresh. We eat there at least once a week, enjoying indoor and outdoor seating. Standard Mexican fare is a cut above, and specialties such as campuchana (hot or cold) are outstanding. Affordable, delicious, friendly.
