I run there very often, in the evenings during the week, and in the morning/afternoon on the weekends. It never fails, I encounter shady characters lurking on benches, in the bushes, and sauntering along. You can not miss them. They are the ones with hooded sweatshirts pulled over their heads and sunglasses on after the sun has set. Often they are sitting alone on a bench where there are no other people. On occasion I have had people jump out of the bushes and start walking away. My guess is that they are picking up or dropping off drugs.
What is the Mtn. View Police Dept. doing to end the assaults and muggings on the trail? I have never seen any police on patrol there.
What notice has the city given people who venture back there about what has happened there in the recent past? I am a strong man who can defend himself, but I often see women jogging alone there, and I want to tell them not to stop running there, because it is not safe anymore.
I am wondering if others have the same feelings about their safety on this trail and what can be done about it.
