Muscles of iron, heart of gold

Original post made on Feb 2, 2008

In January of 2005, Mountain View resident Christina Davis had the same New Year's resolutions many of us have — lose weight, get in shape, meet new people, and, now that she was an "adult" with a "real job," give money to charity.

Wow, how inspirational...I only wish I had that type of dedication to do all those events, while raising money for such a great cause as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I was a part of TNT a year ago and it was one of the best things I've ever been involved with! I was amazed by the energetic spirit of the volunteers, coaches, honorees and survivors. In the end it's all about the honorees (some who are even there cheering you on) and the support we give them. Plus, you'd be amazed at how far a donation of only $10 can go! So, I say support Christina in her efforts and GO TEAM!

I trained with Christina for her first hike. I came to the hikes after doing marathons with TNT for the prior 2 years. Getting involved with this organization puts your life in perspective. I did this in honor of my goddaughters 5th year in remission, but I highly encourage all of you to get involved who read this. I wasn't an endurance athlete when I started but the training is excellent, the people are awesome and the cause is worthwhile. GO TEAM! HIKE ON!
