Denial of Justice?

Original post made by Stevie James, another community, on Jul 18, 2007

Is hostility toward suspected pedophiles so severe that prosecutors exhibit excessive zeal and defense attorneys don't bother to defend their client? Will juries convict regardless of inconclusive evidence? For persons accused of sex offenses, is it guilty unless proven innocent beyond a reasonable doubt? If so, there is a systematic denial of justice for those charged.

The pressure that law enforcement uses on alleged victims and their families to give testimony against the accused should be reported.

Accusing someone may seem like a good way to get revenge or an advantage of some kind.

Does it matter if MySpace incorrectly lists someone as a sex offender? Would it matter if it was you?

No Place to Stand, No Place to Sit

And when they get out of prison, if they ever do, where can they live?

The Orwellian double speak, that limiting where sex offenders may live is not punishment, has been struck down by Judge Patricia Joyce.

At least in Minnesota a sex offender in prison can't have his sentence increased by refusal to admit to more crimes while in "treatment." But this is pretty standard practice in many other states.

Do we want to keep pedophiles in prison for life? Quotes from ChildRight Worldwide - The Victim Child:

"Parker Rossman, an expert in homosexual paedophilia, estimates the number of active gay-paedophiles at more than half a million all over the world. Apparently one out of eight men sometimes gets sexually excited about young boys."

"According to a study by Briere and Runtz in the USA, of the 193 male students questioned, 21% have been sexually aroused by young children once or twice. 9% of the students said to have fantasies about sex with children sometimes, and 7% indicated to be interested in sex with children if there would be no risk of being arrested."

If you try to put all these folks in jail on top of all those imprisoned for other reasons, we're going to have a society composed of only two groups, prisoners and prison guards.

Here is a plan to establish ghettos for sex offenders similar to those they had in pre-WWII Europe.

That is likely to be the end result of the increasing number and severity of laws restricting where convicted sex offenders are permitted to live, work or just be.

New Jersey may make it a crime for a sex offender to use the internet thus denying them a form of employment.

There is also a proposal to require sex offenders to display a special green registration plate on their cars. Will they be made to wear an emblem on their clothing after that? Does any of this seem familiar?

There are over 390 thousand registered sex offenders in the US, 48 thousand in Texas. Do we really want to create a large group of very unhappy and desperate men?

Some years from now you don't want to be the one to say, "First they came for the sex offenders. But I wasn't a sex offender, so I did nothing."

The number of registered sex offenders is over 500,000. Most sex offenders have families and the number of people effected by unfair sex offender laws is over 1.2 million. This number is growing at a rate of 2000+ per month. Families are in constant danger, gang members now target sex offenders as a way to get back in favor with a gang. Vigilante groups have formed to hurt and punish offenders. Children of offenders are living in cars at rest stops. The situation will get worse before it gets better.

I came to US as political refugee on human rights violations in former USSR
I am russian jew, and I got a lot of discrimination in USSR
My parents are Holocaust survivors
But I got the worst thing in USA, never possible in communist country.
I was set up with my computer, convicted as a s..x offender for computer p..rn.
Now I do not have job and can hardly survive under police database
supervision, named s..x offender registration. Nobody want to hire me,
I think because of police database.
And I have family. Who cares? Dirty polititians are playing their
dirty games for more power.
I would like to send you some links to publications about my criminal
case. I was forced to confess to the
possession of internet digital pictures of p..rn in deleted clusters of
my computer hard drive. My browser was hijacked while I was browsing
the web. I was redirected to illegal sites against my will. Some
illegal pictures were found on my hard drive, recovering in
unallocated clusters, without dates of file creation/download.

I do not know how courts can widely press these charges on people to
convict them, while the whole Internet is a mess.
You can find all links to publications about my case here
