Kauai BBQ Grill - Closed?!?!

Original post made by Thumper, Old Mountain View, on Jul 17, 2007

Does anyone know why Kauai BBQ Grill on Dana St closed down?

I loved the Hawaiian BBQ food there and the other competitors on Castro don't measure up.

Another example of the need for the MV Voice to provide a "Shop Talk" column in the paper. (See this week's PA Weekly to see what I'm talking about.)

MV: Can you please keep us informed about what's going on in our own city?

Bleagh....that Hawaiian food was garbage anyway. Good riddance. Fried spam? Give me a break.

Perhaps Hawai'ian cuisine is a fad that doesn't have that much staying power?

I was a regular at Kauai's for the Kalbi ribs, but I just dropped into the Tina's (same location) and tried their Kalbi ribs and they are even better!

Give Tina's a try, she and her staff were very nice and inviting.
The customer flow is somewhat awkward now, food ordering on left cash register on right but I will be back to try the other Filipino dishes.

Her huge homemade flan look fantastic cant wait to try that.
