Joyride Pizza, a San Francisco-based pizzeria, is now available in Daly City at the Gilman Brewing taproom on Junipero Serra Boulevard.

The Detroit-style pizza comes on focaccia crust made with unbleached and organic yecora rojo flour from the Central Valley, according to its website.

The pizzeria's other locations are in San Francisco's Mission District, Yerba Buena Gardens, Lower Haight and Market Street areas, and they also offer pizza from Gilman Brewing's Berkeley taproom.

The menu offers six different vegetarian pizza options, from the "Sweet Bianca," made with taleggio, fig jam, ricotta, mozzarella and brick cheese, to the "Way Beyond Sausage & Spice" featuring Beyond Sausage, sweet pepper, a vegan cheese blend and Mike's Hot Honey.

Meat options include the "Meatzza," made with Italian sausage, bacon, pepperoni, mozzarella and brick cheese and topped with Parmesan and a house marinara sauce, and the "Pestorrific," made with smoked chicken, applewood smoked bacon, mozzarella and brick cheese, all topped with pesto and ranch dressing.

Also on the menu are salads, garlic knots and cinnamon knots, which are tossed with cinnamon, cardamom and maple syrup. They offer a New York-style cheesecake and a Snickers cheesecake for dessert.

The Gilman Brewing taproom in Daly City is newly renovated and has a heated outdoor patio, where dogs on leash are allowed. The brewery is known for its farmhouse-style saisons, IPAs and other beers, according to its website.

The pizza brand’s first location opened in 2021. It is owned by two brothers who had run Samovar Tea Lounges in San Francisco since 2002, but found their business struggling during the pandemic, according to SFGATE. They now sell Detroit-style pizzas whole or by the slice at their six locations.

I don't normally care for Little Caesar's menu options; but, if you like Detroit-style pizza and are on a budget, they offer a pretty nice option. Their Detroit-style deep dish is a surprisingly good value. It was $8 just two or three years ago; however, it's like $11 or $12 now. It's still an amazing value to feed a family.
