Teleferic Barcelona has opened its third Bay Area restaurant in Los Gatos, an open-space concept with an outdoor patio facing the Santa Cruz Mountains.
The restaurant will ultimately be open for lunch and dinner and also hosts a market with grab-and-go bites, wine and homemade sangria to go and paella kits.
“These past few months have been tough on all of us. However, in the midst of the hardship we have felt truly supported and guided by both Palo Alto and Walnut Creek's communities,” owner Xavi Padrosa said in an email to the Peninsula Foodist.
Los Gatos “is equally beautiful as it is ideally located,” he added.
“I am in love with its charming streets and magnificent scenery which, in some ways, remind me of Europe.”
The Los Gatos location has a couple of new dishes, including the Prime Wellington ($34) and the Bogavante Roll ($22) – a lobster roll with Iberian ham. Classic tapas like patatas bravas and croquettes ($8-$9) join dishes like taquitos de tuna (marinated ahi tuna, mashed avocado and wonton shells, $15) on the tapas menu.
Paellas, which serve two, range from a vegetarian option to various seafood paellas and an Iberian pork paella ($38-$62). Beverage options include Spanish wines, sangria and a gin and tonic menu.
Teleferic Barcelona Los Gatos has indoor and outdoor seating, plus a speak-easy hidden within the walls of the restaurant for private events.
