Date Night Recommendation

Uploaded: Jul 13, 2017
You're all having date night once a week, right? You're enjoying each others' company without talking about your kids or work, right? Right, I knew you were.

I found a gem of a restaurant yesterday that I have to tell you about. It's hidden in a little strip mall in Los Gatos, om Los Gatos Blvd. It's called ReggaePot, and is amazing Jamaican food. My son just graduated from culinary school, and as you can imagine, he's a food snob (I mean he's a foodie). He took video of his food, narrating it, and sent it to his girlfriend so she can go to ReggaePot before returning to college.

ReggaePot uses organic food, free range, and they have vegetarian and vegan options. There's food for those who love spicy and for those who don't (I fall in the latter category). I had the Oxtail, and my son had the Jerk Chicken and Curried Goat, plus we had Mac & Cheese that was nothing like I've tasted before. The servings don't look huge on the plate, but neither of could finish our lunch.

We sat for a long time, talking and laughing, tasting each others' food, listening to Jimmy Cliff and others.

Dottie and her husband own the restaurant, and he's the chef.

They're only open until 8PM, and are closed on Saturdays, so go for an early dinner, or get it to go and head out to a park for a picnic.

Enjoy!

Let me know how your date nights are going.
