I am thankful for you, my readers. I hope what I write helps you a bit in your relationship.
I am thankful for the therapists who work with me in Connect2 Marriage Counseling. They are wise, funny, compassionate, and damn good at helping others.
I am thankful for my husband: I can be myself with him all the time, all of my quirky facets have a place in our marriage. He is kind and caring to me. He’s witty and keeps me on my toes. He’s the “energizer bunny” (which is probably trademarked by Energizer Batteries!), and does wonderful and amazing things for us. He’s a good dad, a beautiful singer and piano player, and is loyal to everything he takes on and everyone he loves. He told me he misses making coffee for me and bringing it to me in bed (I had to give up caffeine). I told him he can bring decaf :-). He tells me I am precious and that he loves me, every day. He’s super smart, and goofy, too.
I am thankful for my lovely son, a young man now, making his way in the world. He is the light of my life. I am the recipient of his training in culinary school – yum. We cooked together over the summer when he was home from college. He is smart and a good planner. (He needs a job in December and next summer, especially in the food or hospitality industry, just in case you want a fabulous worker).
I am thankful for my family. We have our own lives, but since the very beginning, if there is a threat to one of us, that person or situation will have all four of us to deal with.
I am thankful for my friends who help me be less serious and have more fun. They accept me as I am, too. Their support means the world to me.
There are many people suffering, health-wise, hunger-wise, peace-wise. Please do whatever you can to help. Second Harvest Food Bank has a corporate sponsor matching dollar for dollar up to $500,000. We can help with that, right?
Enjoy each other, say, “I love you”. Notice the trees and sky, smell food cooking, touch and hug, listen to wonderful words and birds singing. Maybe go for a walk and hold hands. Eat well today.
Happy Thanksgiving to each and every one of you.
