Christopher Kimball at Books Inc. Mountain View
Christopher Kimball ? founder, editor and publisher of Cook's Illustrated and Cook's Country magazines as well as host of TV show "America's Test Kitchen" ? will discuss "The America's Test Kitchen Cooking School Cookbook" ("Everything you need to know to become a great cook") on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. at Books Inc. in Mountain View. Tap Takeover at Steins
Steins Beer Garden & Restaurant in Mountain View is hosting a tap takeover with the San Francisco Brewers Guild on Friday, Nov. 8, from 5 to 11:30 p.m. Featured breweries will include Beach Chalet, Speakeasy, 21st Amendment and more.

Toque of the Town
On Saturday, Nov. 9, eat a Michelin-starred three-course dinner for a good cause. "Toque of the Town" will benefit the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. The dinner, created specifically for this event, is crafted by Mark Sullivan of Spruce (who was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in his early 20s), Peter Rudolph of Madera, Dmitry Elpern of Village Pub and Kayvon Jordon of Mayfield Bakery and Café. There will also be a wine tasting and silent and live auctions. Tickets start at $200 and go up to $20,000.

'Manresa: An Edible Reflection'
Chef David Kinch of the very hyped Manresa Restaurant in Los Gatos will discuss and sign his first-ever cookbook at Kepler's Books in Menlo Park on Tuesday, Nov. 12. Kinch was named Best Chef: Pacific by the James Beard Foundation and Chef of the Year by GQ; Manresa has held two Michelin stars for many consecutive years.

Toni Piccinini at Books Inc. Palo Alto
