Peggy Elaine Pitsenbarger
April 5, 1931-Nov. 1, 2024
Mountain View, California

Submitted by Karen Krejcha

Beloved wife, Mom, and Gram, Peggy Elaine (Adcock) Pitsenbarger, former Mountain View resident, passed away peacefully on November 1st, 2024, in Vancouver, WA, at the age of 93.

Peggy was born on Easter Sunday, April 5th, 1931, in Windsor, CO, the youngest child of Arthur Eaton Adcock and Beulah Genevieve (Moore) Adcock. Raised on a farm, Peggy was a lifelong animal lover with a heavenly voice. As a child, she sang “Over the Rainbow” on the radio for Stars of Tomorrow.

While attending Colorado State University in Fort Collins, she met her future husband, Paul Miller Pitsenbarger, at a Sadie Hawkins dance for local Airmen. After Peggy invited Paul to dance, they were destined to be and were engaged on her following birthday. Peggy and Paul married in Windsor at the First United Methodist Church on September 14th, 1952. Their love story was one-of-a-kind, having recently celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary.

For most of her marriage, Peggy lived in California, including over 51 years at the same home in Mountain View, where she and Paul built a beautiful life and made lifelong friends. They took much joy in raising their daughter Karen and were blessed again when she married son-in-law John and later added two grandchildren, Justine and Ryan. In June 2023, the couple moved to Vancouver, WA, to be closer to family.

Peggy was charming, caring, funny, kind, loyal, hospitable, and full of punny witticisms. Known fondly in the neighborhood for her meticulous round bush trimming, Peggy adored making macaroni and cheese for her grandchildren, baking Snickerdoodles and treats, collecting cookbooks, working cat puzzles, doing word searches, and caring for her family.

Philanthropy and service was close to her heart and she generously served alongside family as a founding Board Member for Autism Empowerment from June 2011 until April 2023.

Peggy’s survivors include her beloved husband, Paul Pitsenbarger; daughter Karen (John) Krejcha; grandchildren Justine and Ryan Krejcha; and grandcat Zula. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and many family friends.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Beulah Adcock; brother Jack Orton (1935); and sisters Mary Elizabeth (1924), Clara Blanche (1924); and Alice Joyce (Warren) Carter (2020).
