Police: Man found dead on Waverley Street in downtown Palo Alto

Palo Alto police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found on a downtown block on Wednesday morning, according to the police.

Police said a passerby reported seeing the body at about 6:30 a.m. this morning. Officers closed the 600 block of Waverley, near Hamilton Ave., while they were investigating.

As of 10 a.m., police stated that there appears to be no threat to the public connected to this death.

Just before 10:30 a.m, police were removing the caution tape from the perimeter of the area while a vehicle was being towed away from the scene where the body was found. Waverley is expected to be reopened to cars shortly.
